Retention: the AI agent that runs your lifecycle marketing

Welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back. The flows everyone knows they should run, actually built, actually maintained, and rewritten as the data changes.

Lifecycle email is the highest-margin channel most stores own and the one most often left half-finished. The flows get set up during launch week, then never revisited: the same subject lines, the same three-email sequence, the same segments, for two years. Retention takes ownership of that surface — it builds the flows that are missing, rewrites the ones that have decayed, and keeps segmentation aligned with how people are actually buying now.

The flows it owns

Retention manages the full lifecycle rather than a single campaign. It works in Klaviyo, using your existing brand voice and templates, and treats every flow as something to be measured and revised rather than launched and forgotten.

  • Welcome and first-purchase sequences with tested incentive logic

  • Abandoned cart and abandoned browse recovery, timed to your buying cycle

  • Post-purchase, review-request, and replenishment sequences

  • Win-back and lapsed-customer campaigns built from real churn windows

Segmentation that reflects your catalogue

Generic segments — "engaged 30 days", "VIP" — are a starting point, not a strategy. Retention builds segments around your actual purchase behaviour: category affinity, replenishment interval, discount sensitivity, first-order value. Then it writes different messages for them instead of sending everyone the same email.

It stops sending what does not work

Every flow is evaluated on revenue per recipient, not open rate. When a sequence stops producing, Retention rewrites it and tells you what changed and why. When a segment is being over-mailed, it says so — protecting deliverability is part of the job, not an afterthought.

How it works

01

Connect Klaviyo and your store

Retention reads your existing flows, segments, templates, and historical performance before proposing anything new.

02

Approve the gap list

It reports which lifecycle stages are missing or underperforming and what it would build, ranked by expected revenue.

03

Let it run and revise

Flows go live, performance is tracked per segment, and copy, timing, and offers get rewritten on a recurring cycle.

What you get

  • A complete lifecycle programme instead of a welcome email and good intentions

  • Segments built from purchase behaviour rather than generic engagement windows

  • Copy and send timing revised on evidence, on a schedule

  • Deliverability protected by send-pressure limits per segment

Frequently asked questions

Will it send email without my approval?

Only if you enable that. By default, new flows and rewrites are staged for review; you approve them before they go live. Many merchants let it auto-revise existing flows while keeping approval on anything new.

Does it work with tools other than Klaviyo?

Klaviyo is the supported lifecycle platform today, chosen because its data model exposes the segmentation and flow structure the agent needs. Other platforms are on the roadmap.

Will the emails sound like a robot wrote them?

It writes from your existing sends — your voice, your formatting conventions, your offer structure. You can also give it explicit voice rules. Anything that reads generic should be rejected in review, and that feedback trains the next revision.

How does it handle SMS?

The same way it handles email: as one part of a lifecycle sequence, with channel choice driven by consent status and by which channel that segment actually responds to.
